Room Setup Protocol
Here is a basic protocol for setting-up a room.
After the room has been stripped and disinfected,
Wash hands and put on clean gloves.
Set room up based on the “Dose Units” concept.
Keep “preventing cross contamination” in mind at all times.
Once the procedure begins – opening drawers and containers to retrieve additional items is not an option, unless hands are washed and clean gloves are used.
**********************************************************
Dose Units – the minimum equipment, instruments or material needed to perform the procedure.
Always wash hand and place clean gloves on when handling items that will be used in the procedure.
