The paradigm shift of patients moving from being patients to becoming savvy consumers will have a tremendous impact on dentistry. I predict in the next four years 21% or more of dentists will close their doors and be out of business. “Patient Compliant” will become the new standard for dentistry. It is comprised of Patient Care, Patient Service and Patient Safety. Patient Compliant will be the measuring stick for excellence and the dividing rod between dental offices that will not survive and dental offices that will thrive. No more will dentist be able to have outdated businesses and incompetent employees.
