Q: I was told if you attempt to be compliant or show that you are trying, OSHA will not issue citations.
A: WRONG – the person who told you that gave bad advice and certainly doesn’t know anything about OSHA. Non-compliant is non-compliant, violations are violations, and you will be cited. However, OSHA can discount the amount of the fine for businesses that show “Good Faith Compliance”.
Keep in mind; you have anywhere from 5 to 7 regulatory agencies besides OSHA that will inspect your office, each having a different violation policy.
The best defense to citations – be compliant!
