Here is a basic protocol for setting-up a room after the room has been stripped and disinfected,
- Wash hands and put on clean gloves, never handel items used in a patient procedure barehanded.
- Set room up based on the “Dose Units” concept, only putting out what is needed for the procedure.
- Keep “preventing cross contamination” in mind at all times. Once the procedure begins – opening drawers and containers to retrieve additional items is not an option, unless hands are washed and clean gloves are used.
